dbSDK

Create, manage, and query PostgreSQL databases through one typed SDK.

Source package name:dbsdkTypeScript / JavaScript

Overview

dbSDK combines a provider management API with a typed PostgreSQL query client. It makes transport capabilities and indeterminate write outcomes explicit, with optional Drizzle interoperability and resumable one-way database transfer. Its Drizzle bridge supports typed schema queries on dbSDK-owned connections, and dbsdk/orm re-exports the PostgreSQL schema-authoring surface.

Best for

Developers evaluating a shared control plane and typed PostgreSQL boundary across supported providers.

Build from the public repository, then install the built local package into your application. This project is not published on npm: the registry name dbsdk belongs to a different project. Follow the source installation guide for optional peers.

Build from source
git clone https://github.com/pkyanam/dbSDK.git
cd dbSDK
pnpm install
pnpm --filter dbsdk build

Listed providers

4 listed
  • PostgreSQL
  • Supabase
  • Neon
  • PlanetScale Postgres

Provider coverage does not imply identical APIs or features. Check the documentation for the integration you plan to use.

Features

  • Management operations for supported provider resources
  • Parameterized PostgreSQL queries and normalized results
  • Explicit capability checks and indeterminate-write errors
  • Resumable one-way transfers with caller-owned checkpoints
  • Drizzle query interoperability and PostgreSQL schema authoring
  • Typed transactions, transport capabilities, and verified TLS connections

Caveats

  • Source build required; npm install dbsdk installs an unrelated package.
  • Node.js 22.12+ and optional driver peers are required by the selected adapter.
  • Current coverage is the PostgreSQL ecosystem, not every database engine.
  • The README reports hosted Supabase, Neon, and PlanetScale verification as pending.
  • Sync is not CDC or bidirectional replication and does not propagate deletes.
